The Las Vegas Golden Knights look to snap out of their mini funk as they head into Detroit to face off against the Red Wings on Thursday night.

The Golden Knights head into the Motor City to face off against the Red Wings and will look to improve on their mark against teams with a losing record as they have beaten up on the league’s bottom feeders and are on a run of a 7-2 stretch against a team under the .500 mark. Vegas got off to a bit of a slow start this season and critics pointed to a huge regression this season but they have bounced back nicely since then and are looking like a group capable of going on another playoff run. The Knights will likely be active at the trade deadline as they can afford to bring in some additional pieces to help their roster but they will need to focus on getting to that point first and a win on the road here against a Wings side that has been playing well of late should be at the forefront.

The Red Wings are 5-2 in their last 7 games but they have struggled at home so far this season and it looks as though it will be another lost campaign for the once playoff powerhouses who are quickly running out of time. The Wings are 4-9 in their last 13 home games and are 2-8 in their last 10 as a home underdog and the Knights remain an anomaly in the eyes of teams outside the Pacific division as they simply haven’t had a lot of games to figure them out which poses an unusual and sometimes daunting challenge. The Wings have hit the Under in 4 straight games and in 5 of their last 6 games following a win.

The Knights are 1-4 in their last 5 games against the Atlantic and 1-4 in their last 5 overall while Detroit is 9-19 in their last 28 against the Western Conference and 13-38 in their last 51 against a team with a winning record. Vegas is a heavy road favorite but for good reason as they have too much in the tank for the Red Wings to deal with here.
