NHL action pits the Columbus Blue Jackets against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.
The Columbus Blue Jackets had been the hottest team in the game with ten straight wins which has the team fighting for first in the Metropolitan. Columbus saw the good times end in a 2-1 loss to the visiting St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
The Blue Jackets lone goal came off the stick of Cam Atkinson in the second period while Alexander Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko scored for the Blues. Jake Allen picked up the win for St. Louis with 33 saves while Sergei Bobrovsky was charged with two goals on 28 shots for Columbus.
The Edmonton Oilers have been out of the postseason picture for quite awhile but the team has played well of late. Edmonton had won three in a row before a 5-4 OT loss to Anaheim where Connor McDavid, Ty Rattie, Leon Draisaitl and Ethan Bear scored and Cam Talbot stopped 33-38 shots.
Adam Henrique topped the Ducks offense with a pair of goals with Josh Manson and Corey Perry also scoring in regulation before Hampus Lindholm won it 1:21 in to overtime. Cam Fowler posted a pair of helpers and Anaheim received 28 saves from John Gibson in the win.
