The Oilers look to extend their home winning streak and respond after a loss in Calgary on Sunday as they host the Kings on Tuesday night.
The LA Kings got a much needed victory on the road on Monday night as they went into Vancouver and waxed the Canucks to the tune of a 5-0 final that left no doubt that they are the team to beat in the Pacific division. However, they can’t revel for too long as they continue their road trip in Edmonton on Tuesday night and face an Oilers side looking to snap a two game losing skid and improve on their home winning streak that has reached seven games. The Kings are 11-5-2 on the road this season and will likely start Jhonas Enroth in this one while the Oilers are 10-5-1 at home this season and will likely counter with Cam Talbot.
The Oilers meanwhile are looking to shake off back to back losses to division rivals as they dropped an overtime contest to the Canucks before bowing out to their bitter rivals from Calgary on Saturday in a game where they looked to have victory sewn up on a few occasions. Edmonton has been dreadful o the road this season but thankfully they have responded with great play at home and as such they are in the mix for a playoff spot in the Pacific division and if they can get Connor McDavid and/or Nail Yakupov back ahead of schedule they could jump into one of the top three spots in the division. This is a great spot for Edmonton as the Kings are in a back to back and will have their back up goalie in net and with the way Edmonton has been at home it would be silly to fade them right now.
