The Edmonton Oilers welcome the New York Rangers to for a Monday NHL tilt.
The New York Rangers are eyeing consecutive victories after a 4-2 against visiting New Jersey on Saturday ended a six game slide. Damon Severson and Blake Coleman gave New Jersey a 2-0 lead in the opening period and Cory Schneider took the loss with three goals allowed three goals on 40 shots to get the loss.
Ryan Strome paced the Rangers with two markers while Libor Hajek and Vladislav Namesnikov also found the scoring column. Namesnikov and Mika Zibanejad posted two assists each for New York and Henrik Lundqvist made 22 stops to get the win.
The Edmonton Oilers saw their four game winning streak end in a 3-2 loss to visiting Toronto on Saturday. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored third period goals for Edmonton. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid posted two assists each for the Oilers and Anthony Stolarz gave up three goals on 40 shots to absorb the loss.
The Maple Leafs received scoring from Morgan Rielly, John Tavares and Jake Muzzin for a 3-0 advantage. Tavares also logged a pair of helpers for Toronto who saw Frederik Andersen come up with 31 saves.
