Is there anything worse for a team on an eight game losing streak than having the Anaheim Ducks come to town? Florida has been a mess this season and a match up with one of the best teams in the NHL isn't exactly a recipe for getting out of it. They played a better hockey game in Sunday night's 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers but they still couldn't come away with the victory because they couldn't get a big save from Tim Thomas. Obviously he's not the same goaltender that he once was but he needs to be better if this club is going to have any chance at competing. The only way the Panthers have a chance in this one is if they outwork the Ducks from the drop of the puck and get some puck luck. That's not an easy task but they might get the benefit of Ryan Getzlaf being out. The big winner missed Sunday night's contest and there's really no reason for Anaheim to risk anything with him against a team like the Panthers so expect him to sit this one out as well. Still, the Ducks should be too much for a Panthers club that just doesn't have much going for it at this point.
