The Boston Bruins look to shake off a loss in their last outing as they take to the road to face off against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.
The Bruins look to snap out of their recent funk against Eastern Conference opponents as they take to the road to battle the Florida Panthers who are in the midst of their own losing skid as both teams aim to change course. The Bruins got off to a hot start and have since leveled out a little bit but they are 4-1 in their last five games against Atlantic division foes and do match up well with a Panthers team that has put up some very poor performances this season and could be in for another on this night. The Bruins are likely to stick with Tuukka Rask in the crease as he has been brilliant through the first quarter of the season as he will face off against Roberto Luongo who will look to give his team a little consistency with an inspired effort on home ice in what is becoming must win territory for the Cats.
The Panthers haven’t been able to get out of their own way and don’t seem to have any consistency in their game as they are 1-4 in their last five games following a win and for all of the preseason hype they were getting they are clearly one of the league’s biggest disappointments. Florida has a ton of depth up top and one of the best young defenseman in the league in Aaron Ekblad but the aging Jaromir Jagr who continues to defy logic is starting to look his age and without his offensive prowess at the level it was even a year ago has really hurt this team of late.
The Bruins are 1-4 in their last five Thursday games and 2-6 in their last eight games overall while the Panthers are 1-4 in their last five Thursday games and 1-6 in their last seven when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. Florida has been underwhelming and after the Bruins lost their last one I think they rebound nicely here and get a big road win over the Panthers in Sunrise.
