|Date & Time||Thursday December 6, 2018, 7:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Florida Panthers -110 / Colorado Avalanche -110 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Florida Panthers welcome the Colorado Avalanche to town for a Thursday NHL tilt.
The Colorado Avalanche are hoping to begin another hot streak after suffering a 6-3 loss at Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The Avalanche received second period goals from Tyson Barrie, Carl Soderberg and Matt Nieto with Semyon Varlamov allowing six goals on 32 shots.
Patric Hornqvist paced the Penguins with a hat trick with all three goals coming in the third while Jake Guentzel, Evgeni Malkin and Derick Brassard all scored in the first. Kris Letang added two assists and Casey DeSmith picked up the win for the Pens with 42 saves.
The Florida Panthers are shooting for consecutive victories after upending Boston 5-0 on Tuesday night. The Bruins offense ran in to a hot goalie while their own defense struggled with Jaroslav Halak giving up all five goals on 44 shots.
Mike Hoffman led the Panthers offense with a pair of goals with Mike Matheson, Jonathan Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov all lighting the lamp. Huberdeau and Keith Yandle had two assists each with Aleksander Barkov adding three helpers to make an easy winner of Florida and the 33 stops of Roberto Luongo.
Under is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and Avalanche are 5-0 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Avalanche are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. Atlantic. Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 games following a win and Panthers are 7-1 in their last 8 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 7-1-2 in Panthers last 10 vs. Central. Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Florida.
Florida has gotten their offense untracked the past few times out and I’d take a small shot at the over…
