The Minnesota Wild look for another spectacular outing in Florida as they take on the Panthers a night after a huge win on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Wild scored a huge road win against the league’s top team in the league last night as they continue their playoff push in the Western Conference and with a win on Friday they would climb into 3rd place in the Central division. Minnesota had one of their best efforts of the season as they shutout the high flying Lightning offense thanks to a special outing from Devan Dubnyk and while he may be on the bench tonight in favor of Alex Stalock the Wild have to feel confident heading into their matchup with the Cats. Minnesota is 17-5 in their last 22 meetings against the Panthers but the home team is 7-1 in their last 8 contests and with the Panthers fighting to get into a playoff spot they know they can’t afford any more losses.

The Panthers are in deep trouble in the race for a playoff spot as they find themselves 11 points behind the Montreal Canadiens heading into action on Friday night and with just 15 games remaining they know they have to move quickly. The Panthers have been a very tough team to figure out this season as they have the talent to compete with any team in a one game show down but they haven’t been able to find consistency and that has been their undoing as they are likely to fall short of a playoff spot once again. The Panthers have lost 5 games in a row and are 3-7 in their last 10 games against the Central division and while the line has yet to be released it is expected they will come in as a slight home dog.

The Wild are 4-1 in their last 5 road games and 3-7 in their last 10 as a favorite while the Panthers are winless in their last 4 as an underdog and have hit the Over in 4 of their last 5 meetings with the Wild. Minny was excellent last night and that continues here as they separate themselves from the pack with another road win.
