The Florida Panthers saw their three game winning streak end in a 2-1 SO loss to the visiting NY Islanders on Thursday. Jonathan Huberdeau found the back of the net for the Panthers in the third to erase a 1-0 deficit. Florida did not score in the shootout and Sam Montembeault recorded 35 saves.

Brock Nelson tallied in the second period for New York off of assists from Michael Dal Collie and Josh Bailey. Brock Nelson netted the only goal of the shootout and Thomas Greiss picked up the win for the Islanders with 29 stops.

Devils are 15-38 in their last 53 road games and Devils are 5-13 in their last 18 overall and Devils are 2-9 in their last 11 vs. Eastern Conference.

Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite and Panthers are 4-9 in their last 13 vs. Eastern Conference and Panthers are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Metropolitan.

Devils are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings in Florida and Devils are 2-8 in the last 10 meetings and Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
