The Line: Florida Panthers / Philadelphia Flyers --- Over/Under:
The Philadelphia Flyers travel to the Sunshine State to tangle with the Florida Panthers Saturday.
The Philadelphia Flyers stay on the road with a trip to the BB&T Center to battle the Florida Panthers. The Flyers are coming in off a 4-3 defeat at Tampa Bay which put at end to their three game winning streak as the defense couldn't contain the Lightning attack. Michael Raffl, Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek lit the lamp for the visitors with captain Claude Giroux adding a pair of helpers. Ray Emery couldn't make the support hold up with 28 stops as Philly has not beaten Tampa Bay on the road in nine contests. Steven Stamkos led Tampa Bay with a pair of tallies with Vladislav Namestnikov and Jason Garrison providing the Lightning offense with Valtteri Fippula adding three helpers in support of a 24 save effort from Ben Bishop.
The Florida Panthers look to start a hot streak when the Philadelphia Flyrs come to town for a visit Saturday. The Panthers will be looking to build on the momentum of Thursday's 2-1 victory over visiting Arizona that ended a four game losing streak to the Coyotes including a loss to them last Saturday. Scottie Upshaw logged the game winner with just over nine minutes remaining in regulation on a breakaway as he came out of the penalty box and was hit with a pass from Tomas Kopecky. Brandon Pirri also scored for the Panthers in the second with Roberto Luongo making 32 stops for the win. Martin Hanzal provided the Coyotes with a first period power play tally with the loss going to Mike Smith who made 24 save in the defeat.
The over is 4-0 in Flyers last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and are 0-7 in their last 7 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while going are 5-1 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. For Florida the under is 5-1 in Panthers last 6 vs. Eastern Conference and is 5-1 in Panthers last 6 overall while going under is 5-1 in Panthers last 6 games following a win. Head to head the Flyers are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Florida with the road team is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings and the under going 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. The Flyers have fared well versus the Panthers and have been playing well so I have to lean their way...
