The Line: Florida Panthers -125 / Philadelphia Flyers +113 --- Over/Under: 5.5
NHL action comes to the BB&T Center where the Florida Panthers host the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Philadelphia Flyers need to iron out some of the highs and lows as this team has been either cold of hot with little in between. Philadelphia has dropped three of four and has to avoid this turning in to anything bigger. The Flyers are coming off of a 2-1 shootout loss at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. The Philadelphia offense saw Ivan Provorov at 3:56 of the second period.
The Blue Jackets received a power play tally from Seth Jones with just 2:51 remaining in the opening period. Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the only goal of the shootout in round three to lift Columbus with Sergei Bobrovsky recording 30 saves. Brian Elliott stopped 35 shots for Philadelphia to secure a point.
The Florida Panthers know what the team does now has a huge effect on their postseason drive later. That means Florida needs as many wins as possible which also means the offense and defense need to get on the same page as the team scores 2.8 goals and allows 3.2 goals. The Panthers have won three straight following a 1-0 victory versus the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
Florida sored the only goal of the game just 1:36 in to the second period off the stick of Jonathan Huberdeau on assists from Nick Bjugstad and Keith Yandle. James Reimer made the meager support stand up with 38 saves that upped his record to 9-9-4 while Mike Condon stopped 37 shots in a losing performance.
Under is 5-0 in Flyers last 5 Thursday games and under is 4-0-1 in Flyers last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Flyers are 5-1 in their last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Over is 5-0 in Panthers last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest and Panthers are 0-5 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 7-1 in Panthers last 8 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. Flyers are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and home team is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and under is 14-6-1 in the last 21 meetings.
As a Philadelphia fan I know this team is never going to be dependable so I go small on them at best…
