The Penguins look to continue their early season dominance as they head into Sunrise to take on the Panthers who have just one win in four tries this season.
Pittsburgh looks like a team possessed at the moment as they are firing on all cylinders and have dominated every game they have played thus far and things don’t like to be slowing down any time soon. The offense has always been spectacular for the Penguins and their blue line is always improving but goaltending has been a question mark over the past couple of seasons. Marc Andrew Fleury is a former first overall pick and is very talented but his efforts in the postseason over the last two years im particular has drawn much criticism and he was even benched in favour of Tomas Vokoun for the Pens last year. However, Fleury has stolen the show so far this year for the Penguins and is a huge reason why they’re undefeated and he’ll be looking for another solid effort here against the lowly Panthers.
Florida started off the season with a 4-2 victory but have since been shellacked including a thumping handed to them by the Lightning on Wednesday night. The Panthers are going to struggle mightily this season and things don’t get any easier as they go from the high powered Lightning offense to the even more daunting Penguins offense in consecutive games and I think the Penguins should and will have their way with the Panthers. This is the type of game though that I can see the Pens getting off course especially with a Saturday contest lined up with the Lightning but there is no reason for us to back the Panthers right now or to bet against the Penguins. I’d suggest laying the wood with the Pens by taking the puck line or play the over as I can see a number of goals bulge the twine in this one.
