The San Jose Sharks look to stay red hot and claim a road victory on Monday as they head into Sunrise to do battle with the Florida Panthers.

The San Jose Sharks look to continue their recent success against the Panthers as the two sides meet up in Florida on Monday night as they head in opposite directions. The Sharks started the season off quietly but have since looked like the team many expected to be in the mix for the Stanley Cup this season as they are 7-2 in their last 9 games overall and are an impressive 6-1 in their last 7 games against the Eastern Conference. San Jose is loaded across the board and made their roster even better in the offseason when they landed Erik Karlsson from the Ottawa Senators and his play has certainly elevated over the last couple of weeks and will be pivotal in terms of how far this team can go. The Sharks are expected to send Martin Jones to the crease as he will face off against veteran goaltender Roberto Luongo.

The Panthers meanwhile have lost 4 games in a row against Pacific division foes and are 2-7 in their last 9 games overall but they have had a trend of starting the week off on the right foot as they are 6-0 in their last 6 Monday games. Florida came into the season as a dark horse team in the Eastern Conference but they have greatly underachieved and need to rectify their woes in a hurry as they are quickly falling out of the race for a playoff spot. Florida is 2-8 in their last 10 games against the Western Conference and are 1-4 in their last 5 home games against San Jose and the odds makers seem to be leaning towards the visitors in this spot.

The Sharks are 6-1 in their last 7 games against the East and have gone Over in 5 of their last 6 road games while the Cats are 2-8 in their last 10 against a team with a winning record and have gone Over in 10 of their last 12 following a win. The Sharks are the better team and should have no issues getting a win here to start off the week at the expense of the Panthers.
