|Date & Time||Sunday December 17, 2017, 8:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Las Vegas Golden Knights -160 / Florida Panthers +144 --- Over/Under: 6
NHL action comes to the T-Mobile Arena where the Vegas Golden Knights host the Florida Panthers.
The Florida Panthers end a four game road swing with their first ever meeting versus the Vegas golden Knights on Sunday. Florida hopes to begin a much needed winning streak after a 2-1 defeat at the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night where the offense never got untracked. The Panthers lone bright spot was a shorthanded tally from Aleksander Barkov in the second off a Jared McCann assist.
Nathan McCann was the offense for the Avalanche with a goal at 3:15 of the first period and at 6:44 of the third period. Colorado received 32 saves from Semyon Varlamov who improved to 10-8-1. James Reimer absorbed the loss for the Panthers with 28 stops that dropped his record to 6-8-4.
The Vegas Golden Knights are still the surprise team in the NHL as the team continues to win and has not fallen off the map as many have expected and are holding on to second in the Pacific. Vegas has won five of six following a 2-1 victory versus the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Penguins only goal came off the stick of Ian Cole in the first period. The Golden Knights saw scoring from James Neal at just 1:41 of the first with Jon Merrill netting the winner at 8:17 of the third period with Marc-Andrei Fleury stopping 24 shots to up his record to 4-1-1 while Matt Murray recorded 24 saves in defeat.
Under is 5-0-1 in Panthers last 6 Sunday games and Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 4-0 in Panthers last 4 vs. Pacific. Under is 4-0 in Golden Knights last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and over is 6-1 in Golden Knights last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Golden Knights are 11-2 in their last 13 home games.
I am not going to go deep in to with no trends but I’ll side with the hotter Golden Knights…
