Arizona Coyotes (12-11-2) at Los Angeles Kings (10-16-1)
|Date & Time||Tuesday December 4, 2018, 10:30 PM (EST)|
The Line: Los Angeles Kings -120 / Arizona Coyotes +100 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Arizona Coyotes and the Los Angeles Kings meet in NHL action from the Staples Center on Tuesday night.
The Arizona Coyotes will look for a win to add to their current 3-game winning streak following a 6-1 romp over St. Louis in their last outing. Jakob Chychrun opened the scoring for Arizona to take a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, and doubled their advantage within the 1st minute of the 2nd period. St. Louis would cut the deficit in half before Arizona scored 3 unanswered goals from Christian Fischer, Nick Cousins and Richard Panik to take a 5-1 lead into the 3rd where Alex Goligoski got in on the scoring action to seal the deal for the Coyotes. Adin Hill got the win to improve to 3-0-0 this season after stopping 25 of the 26 shots faced in the winning effort.
The Los Angeles Kings will look to pick up some steam after earning a 2-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in their last outing. The game was a scoreless stalemate through the first two periods and for much of the 3rd frame before Alec Martinez finally broke the deadlock with 2:13 to go in the game and Kyle Clifford put the win on ice with an empty netter for L.A. with less than a minute to go. Jonathan Quick finally picked up his first win of the season to improve to 1-4-1 on the year after stopping all 34 shots faced in the winning effort for his 50th shutout of his career.
Arizona is 2-5 in their last 7 division games and 33-79 in their last 112 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Los Angeles is 10-22 in their last 32 games overall and 2-5 in their last 7 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record. Arizona is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams overall and 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles.
Things may start to turn around for the Kings after Quick finally got the monkey off of his back with his first win of the season. However, the Coyotes come into this one in much better form and have actually had the Kings’ number as of late, and in L.A. no less, so I’ll side with the Coyotes to add to their winning streak here.
