The Line: Los Angeles Kings -160 / Buffalo Sabres +130 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Los Angeles Kings hope to avoid the upset bid of the Buffalo Sabres in a Saturday NHL bout.
The Buffalo Sabres have come out of the gate slow and have to avoid falling behind in the standings and play catch up all year. Buffalo has lost four straight to kick off 2017-18 following a 3-2 defeat at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.
On the flip side, San Jose picked up their first win of the season as they never trailed but never were able to shake off Buffalo. Timo Meier tallied the game winner in the second period while Tomas Hertl and Chris Tierney also found the back of the net for the Sharks. Joonas Donskoi added a pair of assists to help San Jose goalie Martin Jones and his 23 saves to the win.
Jason Pominville was the Sabres offense with goals in the first and second periods to give him four on the season while Jack Eichel logged two assists. Robin Lehner was charged with all three goals on 26 shots as Buffalo dropped to 0-3-1 in the early going.
The Los Angeles Kings are looking to get back in the win column when the Buffalo Sabres come to town. Los Angeles was denied a third straight win to begin the year in a 4-3, overtime loss to the visiting Calgary Flames on Wednesday as the team couldn’t hold a 3-2 lead.
Sean Monahan lifted Calgary to the win with his tally at 1:02 of the extra session with his second goal of the year with Matthew Tkachuk scoring two times. Michael Frolik also scored for the Flames with Johnny Gaudreau logging a pair of assists.
Dustin Brown paced the Los Angeles offense with two scores and an assist followed by Anze Kopitar who scored and assisted. Calgary received 42 saves from Mike Smith while Jonathan Quick was charged with all four goals on 37 shots.
Under is 3-0-1 in Sabres last 4 vs. Pacific and under is 3-0-1 in Sabres last 4 vs. Western Conference and Sabres are 2-7 in their last 9 vs. Western Conference. Under is 2-0-2 in Kings last 4 vs. Atlantic and under is 13-3-5 in Kings last 21 vs. Eastern Conference and Kings are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Los Angeles and Sabres are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Los Angeles and home team is 19-3 in the last 22 meetings.
I know Buffalo won’t lose every game so with this in mind I still would do something with the Kings and look at the under…
