The Dallas Stars look to build on Tuesday night's thrilling victory over the Arizona Coyotes as they head into the Staples Centre to take on the Kings on Thursday.
The Dallas Stars were in the midst of an ugly losing streak before taking on the Arizona Coyotes in the desert on Tuesday and looked like they were on pace to extend that streak before Tyler Seguin took over and led his team to victory. The Stars are off to a slow start in what was supposed to be a break out year for them and while there is still plenty of hockey left to be played they need to find some consistency and avoid the lengthy losing skids or else they will be left behind by the powers of the Central division. Dallas is certainly an exciting team to watch and one that has a great core of players moving forward and with this game being the back end of a double header for the Kings who played against Anaheim last night it could be a great chance for Dallas to make a statement against the defending champs who are likely to start Martin Jones in this one.
The Kings play their second game in as many nights and will look to upend the Stars in a Western Conference show down between the defending champs and a team on the rise. Los Angeles has been as impressive as ever to start the season despite some underachieving from the likes of Mike Richards and Marian Gaborik but the youngsters on the Kings roster have stepped up in a big way namely Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli. Los Angeles as the defending champions has the tough task of facing a team's best effort every night but demonstrating resiliency and battling against the best is something the Kings are used to at this point and is a reason why they are considered Cup contenders again this season. This is a tough one to call as the line will certainly change depending on how their game against Anaheim goes and whether or not Martin Jones starts but with the firepower these teams have I think we see a high scoring affair no matter who is in goal and I like this one to go over the number.
