We're used to seeing the Los Angeles Kings win hockey games over the last few years but we're definitely not used to seeing them do it the way they did on Thursday night. The Kings scored seven times against a Phoenix Coyotes club that's known for its defensive hockey as well, in a game that saw the two teams combine for 11 goals. The Kings scored four times in the opening period to take a 4-0 lead with them into the intermission, Dwight King recorded a hat trick on the night, and Jonathan Quick allowed four goals on 28 shots. It was a very backwards night for Los Angeles but at the end of the day it's two more points in the standings. Phoenix rallied in this game to tie the score at 4-4 early in the third period before the Kings eventually scored the final three to hold on for the win. Now the Edmonton Oilers come to town playing some more competitive hockey but still not seeing many results. They played a high scoring affair with the Coyotes as well that saw them fall by a final of 5-4, and they're now just 3-8-1 on the season. The loss of Taylor Hall is a huge one for a club that really can't afford to be missing key pieces. The last thing the Oilers organization wanted was for this club to be out of things early but with the way things are heading right now it looks like that might be the case.
