The Line: Los Angeles Kings -150 / New Jersey Devils +136 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The New Jersey Devils travel to the Staples Center to lock horns with the Los Angeles Kings in a Friday NHL tilt.
The New Jersey Devils have been on a little run and are hoping it continues with wins in three of four after throttling Vegas 8-3 on the road on Wednesday. Erik Haula led the Golden Knights with two goals with Colin Miller also scoring while Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on eleven shots before Maxime Lagace stopped 13-17 in relief.
Blake Coleman topped the Devils attack with a pair of tallies with Nico Hischier, Travis Zajac, Stefan Noesen, Michael Grabner, Kyle Palmieri and Taylor Hall each lighting the lamp. Brian Gibbons added two assists for New Jersey and Keith Kinkaid recorded 39 saves.
The goal for the Los Angeles Kings is to accumulate as many points as possible and get the best possible position in the playoffs. Los Angeles has been in a win one, lose one trend that continued Thursday in a 4-1 win versus Detroit where Gustav Nyqvist scored for the Red Wings with Jared Coreau making 18 saves in defeat.
The balanced Kings offense featured four different scorers with Paul LaDue, Anze Kopitar, Tyler Toffoli and Dustin Brown all reaching the scoring column. Kopitar and Drew Doughty each totaled three helpers and Los Angeles received 20 saves from Jonathan Quick.
Under is 5-1 in Devils last 6 games following a win and under is 5-1-1 in Devils last 7 vs. Western Conference and under is 5-1 in Devils last 6 road games. Over is 4-0 in Kings last 4 games following a win and over is 4-0 in Kings last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Kings are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. Under is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings.
This is a complete tossup which means look elsewhere but for an interest perhaps small on the under…
