The Islanders continue their West Coast road trip on Thursday night as they travel from Anaheim to Los Angeles to take on the defending champions.

The Islanders got off to one of the best starts in hockey and had lived up to the hype of being a team to beat in the East this season but since their hot start they have dropped to a game above .500 and have lost three straight games (not including last night's game). This Isles team is one that is still very young with a lot of their core players being guys who have been together for years trying to rebrand this franchise and now it looks as though they have pushed through to the next level and should very much be considered a playoff contender this season. New York will be in a tough spot regardless of Wednesday’s outcome here though as they play in back to back nights against two of the league's best teams and you can bet that'll take its toll on anyone regardless of who you are.

The Kings got in the win column on the road for the first time earlier this week and have moved to 7-4-2 to start the season as they look to make it back to back Stanley Cup titles and their third in five seasons. The Kings are a very dangerous team as the majority of their core from a year ago returns to make one of the most dangerous, complete teams in hockey and that starts from the crease out as Jonathan Quick continues to assert himself as one of the game's best goaltenders. The Islanders to have a ton of fire power as do the Kings so it wouldn't come as much of a surprise to see these teams go shot for shot up front but in the second half of a back to back especially for a team on a road trip it is common to see them playing tight defensively and against a Kings team that suits them just fine. I expect this one to be that type of game as we see the under here.
