It has been an interesting case study for the rest of the league watching what the Los Angeles Kings are doingin the absence of Jonathan Quick. With Quick recognized as one of the best goaltenders in the league and already having a Stanley Cup on his résumé, we see the Kings still playing great hockey without out. This isn't to say that backup Ben Scrivens hasn't played well, because the Kings are thrilled with the way he has performed. The idea that a team needs a dominant goalie to be successful in this day and age seems like it dwindles each and every day. Los Angeles is a great hockey club and no one player is more important than any other. They come together as a group Andy work hard and play their system and go to the dirty areas of the ice and they find ways to win hockey games. They've won back to bam games over the Ducks and BlueS and should have a bit of an easier task on their hands with the New York Islanders in town. The Islanders losing streak has now reached eight games and with a road trip like this one they might not find a victory any time soon. There isn't a club for them coming up that gives them a reprieve on the schedule. Instead the Islanders will need to find a way to elevate their game against some of the best in the National Hockey League. It started poorly on Thursday weight witH a 5-1 loss to St. Louis and it doesn't look like its going to get better any time soon.
