The San Jose Sharks look to steal both games at the Staples Center with a win on Saturday while the home side looks to get a win and even the series.
The Sharks head into Los Angeles on Saturday night looking to follow suit from their series opening victory on Thursday and if they can do so they can head home with a comfortable lead for the second time in three seasons against their division rivals. San Jose is all too familiar with this position and were burdened with the thought of another potential series loss to the Kings but they did enough to outlast them in game one and former Kings goaltender Martin Jones got the best of his old team once again. San Jose is a stingy group that has a ton of veteran leaders but to take two games in a row on the road in a playoff series is very tough to do and they will need to play one of their best games of the year if they’re going to get it done on Saturday.
The Kings traded goals all night long with the Sharks but in the end it was the road team getting the win and sending the Kings to another series deficit. Los Angeles seems to play best when their backs are against the wall and while one game isn’t the end of a series by any means the Kings have to have a sense of urgency heading into this one as they know an 0-2 hole going on the road is very tough to overcome. This should be another exciting contest and it has overtime written all over it and while the value lies with the Sharks in this one I think the Kings get it done and even things up and take to the road on even terms.
