The Sharks look to advance to the second round with a victory at the Staples Center on Friday night while LA looks to send the series back to San Jose.
The Sharks have stormed out of the gates to start this series and could very well have wrapped things up in four if not for an overtime victory in game three off of a fluky deflection from Tanner Pearson and if they can come out with the same intensity as we saw in Wednesday’s game it could be all she wrote for the Kings this season. San Jose undoubtedly has a great roster and have been getting contributions from the usual suspects but as they are full aware of getting the series clinching win is very tough and with two wins on the road already in this series you’d have to think the Kings will get one at home in this one.
Los Angeles has stumbled in the first four games of this series and while they are still alive and could very well turn this series on its head you’d have to think that winning three of four against a quality Sharks side will be tough to pull off. However, we have seen this movie before and the Kings are fully capable of pulling it off but they need to get their big guns rolling as Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar have been quiet and could very well be on the outs if they can’t play their team back into this series. While I am cautiously optimistic the Kings will get a win here I have been bitten twice already by the Sharks in this series and while they have the value here I have to side with the Kings to keep it alive for at least one more game.
