The Kings and Blues complete the back end of a home and home set with the visitors looking to complete the sweep at the Staples Center.
The Blues got the better of the Kings in their meeting on Tuesday night and they can go for the mini series sweep with a follow up and lock in their sixth win in a row in the process. St. Louis is flying at the moment and are well on their way to a postseason berth at the very least if this keeps up but they have their sights set on the division crown that slipped out of their grasp in the final week of the season last year. St. Louis is incredibly deep all over the ice but it is their blue line that stands out to most people as they have one of the best groups in hockey and if they can continue to shut down their opponents offensively than the St. Louis attack doesn't always have to be on, though they have been very solid this season. Marty Brodeur gets another start here for his new side as he will go up against Jonathan Quick.
The Kings look to shake off the loss on Tuesday as they get another crack at the Blues in this one and while there is still plenty of NHL action to be played this is a momentum type game for LA as they could really use a big win. Los Angeles are the defending Cup champions but are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games and sit in fourth place in the Pacific division thanks to a free fall from the Calgary Flames over the last six games and really need to get moving in the right direction. They are still without Slava Voynov who may be out for the rest of the season based on the domestic violence cases we have seen from others in the sports world this year and that is a massive loss as he is one of the best defensemen in hockey and could really make a difference for this team right now. The Blues are 9-5-1 on the road this season which is pretty impressive but I think they drop another here as the Kings come back with a much needed victory heading into the weekend.
