The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Los Angeles Kings meet in NHL action from the Staples Center on Tuesday night.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to bounce back from their first road loss of the year, coming in the form of a 5-1 beatdown at the hands of Boston in their last outing. Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak combined to give Boston a 3-0 lead before John Tavares answered with Toronto’s only goal late in the 2nd period. Pastrnak would complete his hat trick in the 3rd and Boston would add one more to send the Leafs away empty handed. Garret Sparks took the loss, falling to 2-1-0 this season after allowing all 5 goals on 34 shots in the losing effort.

The Los Angeles Kings will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Calgary in their last outing. Travis Hamonic gave Calgary a 1-0 lead just 2:26 into the game, and that lead would stick as the Kings would get nothing by Flames netminder David Rittich, who stopped all 21 shots that the Kings would put on goal in the losing effort. Jack Campbell ended up with the hard luck loss, allowing just the lone goal on 36 shots in the defeat.

Toronto is 6-1 in their last 7 road games and 12-4 in their last 16 games against the Western Conference while the under is 10-1-1 in their last 12 games overall. Los Angeles is 4-9 in their last 13 home games and 5-16 in their last 21 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games. Toronto is 0-4 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles.

The Kings have started to show signs of life since their coaching change, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Kings have a lot of work to do before I trust them against one of the league’s best with my hard earned money. Toronto has been strong on the road this season, with the Boston loss being their lone blemish away from home this season, and to get the Leafs at this price is a steal so I’ll lay the juice and back Toronto in this spot.

Toronto -115
