It was a big victory for the Vancouver Canucks in more ways than one the other night. It's important for this hockey club to beat a team like the San Jose Sharks that has been in their head a little bit in recent years. Things didn't get off to the best start either with Joe Thornton scoring just over a minute into the game but the Canucks rebound as well as anyone could have hoped, scoring three times in the first period and really asserting themselves the rest of the game. Roberto Luongo allowed two goals in a wild five goal first period but after that he wasn't tested too much as the Canucks controlled play and went on to the 4-2 win. Now they'll get Jonathan Quick who seems to have found his game for Los Angeles after a slow start to the year. The Kings are another team that the Canucks are going to have to prove to themselves that they can beat because these are the types of teams who historically have played much better playoff hockey than the Canucks. Though it's early in the season these are big mindset games for the Canucks and this is another one they need to approach with that same mentality.
