The Los Angeles Kings welcome the Winnipeg Jets to town in a west coast NHL matchup.
The Winnipeg Jets continue their road trip with a stop to oppose the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. Red hot Winnipeg had won four in a row before cooling off for a night in a 5-3 defeat at the Nashville Predators on Monday night. Winnipeg received a pair of goals from Mathieu Perreault with Tyler Myers also lighting the lamp. Connor Hellebuyck absorbed the loss for the Jets with all five goals given up that dropped his record to 11-2-2.
The balance Nashville attack received goals from Kevin Fiala, Nick Bonino and Ryan Johansen with Kyle Turris and Mattias Ekholm each scoring on the power play. PK Subban and Roman Josi each added two assists with Pekka Rinne earning the win for the Preds with 32 saves to up his record to 11-3-2. Nashville remained red hot with wins in seven of eight overall.
The Los Angeles Kings began the 2017-18 campaign playing well but the team has tailed off the past few weeks. Los Angeles has dropped six of seven following a 4-2 loss at the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday where neither end of the ice was able to come through. Tanner Pearson and Trevor Lewis lit the lamp for the Kings with Jonathan Quick allowing three goals on nine shot before Darcy Kuemper came on and brushed aside 30 shots.
The Golden Knights jumped on Los Angeles for three first period goals with William Karlsson scoring twice with Cody Eakin also finding the back of the net. Alex Tuch secured the win with an empty net tally and Reilly Smith added a pair of helpers to make a winner of Maxime Lagace and his 27 saves as Vegas upped their impressive home record to 8-1.
Jets are 4-0 in their last 4 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 4-0 in Jets last 4 Wednesday games and Jets are 14-2 in their last 16 games playing on 1 days rest. Under is 4-0-1 in Kings last 5 overall and over is 2-0-3 in Kings last 5 Wednesday games and over is 3-0-1 in Kings last 4 vs. Central. Over is 4-0-2 in the last 6 meetings in Los Angeles and over is 5-1-4 in the last 10 meetings and home team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
I’m leaning to Winnipeg based on how they have been playing but goalies have not been named…
