The Los Angeles Kings welcome the Winnipeg Jets to town for a Monday NHL tilt.
The struggles of the Los Angeles Kings continued Saturday with a 4-3 defeat to visiting Florida that saddled the team with losses in 15-17. Dustin Brown, Brendan Leipsic and Anze Kopitar lit the lamp for Los Angeles. Brown and Kopitar each had an assist for the Kings and Jonathan Quick was charged with four goals on 35 shots to get the loss.
Evgenii Dadonov paced Florida with a pair of tallies with Mike Hoffman and Jonathan Huberdeau adding markers. Aleksander Barkov logged three helpers and Sam Montembeault recorded 24 stops to pick up the win.
The Winnipeg Jets have won consecutive contests after downing visiting Calgary 2-1 on Saturday. Mark Jankowski scored shorthanded in the second for the Flames while Mike Smith took the loss with a 19 save effort.
Mark Scheifele scored with nine seconds left in the first for Winnipeg while Mathieu Perrault netted the winner in the third. Connor Hellebuyck recorded 27 saves for the Jets to pick up the win and up his record to 29-20-2.
Jets are 43-20 in their last 63 vs. a team with a losing record and Jets are 55-26 in their last 81 games as a favorite and Jets are 1-5 in their last 6 games as a road favorite.
Kings are 25-51 in their last 76 overall and Kings are 8-20 in their last 28 games as an underdog and Kings are 0-4 in their last 4 home games.
Jets are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Los Angeles and home team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
This isn’t the type of game I typically look at but I’ll throw this out there with the Kings struggling…
