The Blues look to take the series lead and head back to Minnesota with a chance at wrapping it up as they play game five in St. Louis on Friday night.
The Minnesota Wild spoiled a great opportunity to put the St. Louis Blues on the ropes in what was easily their worst game of the series as the Blues had their way with the home side in a 6-1 pasting that could spell the end of Minny's season if they can't rebound here. The Wild had been playing some of the league's best hockey over the final month of the season and while they are still tied at two in this series with St. Louis and have won on the road in this series already I think they'll be in tough to take two of the next three games especially if they can't get a win in this one. Devan Dubnyk continues to be the horse in the Minny goal but he will have to be better here and against a Blues team whose offense broke out in a big way that is much easier said than done.
The Blues return home with a great chance at taking the series lead and with the way they played in game four it would come as no surprise to see them dominate once again. St. Louis was a trendy pick by a lot of people to emerge out of the Western Conference and they finally showed why on Wednesday night as they were excellent in all three facets of the game and with the home crowd likely playing a factor here the Blues could be moving cloer to booking their ticket to the next round. While the Wild aren't a push over and could make a deep run if they emerge out of this round I think they are in a tough spot here and I like the Blues to get the win here and push the Wild to the brink of elimination.
