The Blackhawks look to shake off a loss in Winnipeg last night as they continue their road trip in Minnesota to battle the Wild.
The Blackhawks went into Winnipeg last night riding a winning streak but it came to an abrupt halt as the Jets defense kept the Hawks to a single goal and now they face an even stiffer test in Minnesota. Chicago has had to deal with the loss of Duncan Keith and things get even tougher here as the Wild are as gritty as they come on offense and have a ton of weapons in the defensive zone and a great goaltender. The Hawks are just 1-3 on the road this season which doesn't bode well heading into the Xcel Energy Center which is one of the toughest arenas for visiting teams to earn points as the Wild have won a ton of games at home over the last few seasons and things haven't changed this year as they are a perfect 4-0 in Minnesota this season.
The Wild are 6-2-1 on the year and are coming off a victory in their last outing and you can be sure they have had this game circled on their calendars as they look to make a statement to the defending Cup champions. Minnesota is led at the back end by Ryan Suter as he continues to get better with age and with so much depth up front and Devan Dubnyk in the crease this is a tough team to beat. Chicago gives us some great value on the Wild as a lighter home favourite than we are used to and if Scott Darling gets the call it puts us in a better position. I love the Wild in this one.
