The Minnesota Wild look to get back in their series with the Chicago Blackhawks with game three at the Xcel Energy Center.
The Minnesota Wild are in desperate need of a spark just to get their confidence back but didn’t find it at the United Center in a 4-1 defeat that dropped them to 0-2 in their semifinal series with the Chicago Blackhawks. The spark better be found at the Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday or the Wild will be staring at a deep 0-3 hole with elimination on the horizon. The ream will need better efforts at both ends of the ice with the lone goal coming off the stick of Matt Dumba in the third period that cut the Blackhawks lead to 2-1. Devan Dubnyk gave up three goals on 30 shots including Chicago’s second late in the second that probably set the tone for the final 20 minutes.
The Chicago Blackhawks are in cruise control right now and that hasn’t been a good thing for the Minnesota Wild who fell to 0-2 in the series after Sunday’s decision and to 0-8 all time at the United Center in the postseason. The Blackhawks have now won all five contests on home ice in these playoffs after dominating both ends of the ice after a scoreless first. Jonathan Toews opened the scoring in the second with around 7 ½ minutes left with Patrick Kane doubling the lead with just 20 seconds left for a 2-0 lead going to the third. Patrick Sharp tallied in the third for a 3-1 advantage with Kane scoring his second on an empty netter to seal the deal. Corey Crawford was strong in the nets with 30 stops to pick up the win.
The over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 vs. Central and is 3-0-1 in their last 4 vs. a team with a winning record while going 3-0-1 in Chicago’s last 4 vs. Western Conference. The Wild are 5-0 in their last 5 Tuesday games and are 0-4 in their last 4 Conference Semifinals games while the over is 1-0-3 in Wild last 4 games playing on 1 days rest. The Blackhawks are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings while the home team is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings. No line out but the Blackhawks are clicking and I will be digging in to this deeper so please check back…
