The Colorado Avalanche take on the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center on Sunday in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Colorado Avalanche are on a two-game winning streak, defeating the Ottawa Senators in their last game and had a crushing win over the Buffalo Sabres. The Avalanche had outscored their opponents 10-2 in their win streak. The game prior was a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, which snapped a three-game winning streak the Avalanche were on.

The Colorado Avalanche are 30-16-6 on the season and are second in the Central Division. A big reason why they are so good is that they outscore most teams. Colorado Avalanche is fourth in the NHL in goals scored and is still in the top ten in goals allowed, showing their balance and strength. Colorado is, of course, lead in goals, points, and assists by superstar Nathan MacKinnon, who has been on an absolute tear of the season. Mackinnon is currently fourth in the NHL in most points this season with 74.

The Minnesota Wild are coming off of a three-game winning streak, defeating the over the Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars in their last game.

The Wild hasn't had a remarkable season so far, having a record of 26-22-6. The Wild find themselves middle of the road offensively, but are one of the worst teams in the league in defense, allowing the sixth-most goals this season. However, with the win streak that they are on, they could climb up the standings fast.

Colorado is 31-21 ATS this season
Avalanche are 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite.
Minnesota is 28-26 ATS this season
Wild are 4-1 in their last five games playing on one day's rest.

A lot will be able to be told about this game in the first period, as the Colorado Avalanche could be exhausted after playing the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday. However, I still see the Colorado Avalanche as a much better team, and I think they can deal with that type of adversity and will be prepared for his game. I believe that the Colorado Avalanche will win this game closer than it should be but still come out as the victors. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche wins 5-3.
