The Line: Minnesota Wild -116 / Dallas Stars +105 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Stars look to reclaim sole possession of first place in the NHL as they take to the road to battle Minnesota Wild.
The Dallas Stars look to build on their home ice triumph over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night and retake top spot in the league standings with a big time victory over their division rivals in Minnesota on Monday. The Stars sit atop the toughest division in hockey and have been there for most of the season but thanks to a run from the Washington Capitals they have competition in the President's Trophy race and with more than half of the regular season remaining the Stars will have a target on their backs from here on out as they have gotten out to a ridiculous start. Dallas added some key pieces in the off season and as such they look like Cup contenders, and after shelling the Canadiens on Saturday they reiterated that point against one of the better teams in the East.
The Wild will look to shake off a loss in Nashville on Saturday as they return home to a place where they have been very successful this season as they aim for their 13th win of the season in Minnesota. The Wild are a good team that sits in the midst of plenty of others as the Central has been ridiculous this season and will likely produce not only three competitive division qualifiers but two strong wild cards as well as the Pacific is a mess and the last place team in the Central from Winnipeg would threat to make an automatic berth in the lowly Pacific. The Wild have been great at home and have beaten some very good teams there and I think that continues here as Minny gets the edge at a great price.
