The Panthers look to shake off a loss to the lowly Blue Jackets in their last outing as they continue their road trip in Minnesota on Sunday.
The Florida Panthers remain atop the Atlantic division but can feel their grasp slipping with each passing game as the Lightning, Bruins, and Red Wings are all on their heels and it should make for a very exciting finish to the end of the regular season. The Cats made some moves this weekend and brought in a few complimentary pieces and they may not be done quite yet with the trade deadline just around the corner and if they can add another forward they could put themselves in a spot to be considered as a favourite in the Eastern Conference. Florida is 15-9-4 on the road this season and will start Al Montoya in the crease as he will face off against Devan Dubnyk and a Wild team that has won 15 of their 30 games at home.
Minnesota is coming on hard and are right in the mix in the wild card hunt but it took an eight game losing streak and a coaching change to light a fire and they may be in a spot of too little too late when the season ends. The Wild are a very good team but have dropped three in a row including their last against the red hot Washington Capitals but at home against the Panthers they are in a very good spot and will need a full team effort to get the win. Unfortunately, the Panthers are a better hockey club and should be able to beat the Wild with team defense and at a plus value they are worth a shot.
