The Kings and Wild meet up in a grudge match of Western Conference foes who have their sights set on the postseason.
The Kings head into Minnesota looking to stay red hot and take down the Wild who are coming off a huge win against the Flames last night but LA is playing very well of late themselves setting up what should be an exciting contest. The Kings have won three in a row and now sit in third place in the Pacific division and are just two back of the Canucks for second in what has been an incredible second half for the defending champs who look as though they are going to be able to defend their Cup title with a berth in the playoffs on the horizon. The Kings will turn to Jonathan Quick as he will go up against Devan Dubnyk in a battle of two of the game's better goalies this season.
The Wild have been on fire winning four in a row and perhaps none bigger than at home against the Flames last night in what was one of their best periods of the season. Minny has gone on a tear since acquiring Dubnyk and his effort could be rewarded with a Vezina Trophy and while it is unlikely they would give it to someone who didn't play the entire season as a starter it would still make for an interesting story especially if Minny gets in the playoffs. This is going to be a blood bath and while I think the Kings get the win the better play is the total and I see this one being a defensive battle as both teams won't want to make any mistakes.
