The Wild look to snap their mini two game slide as they welcome the Predators to Minnesota on Saturday night.
The Nashville Predators look for their second win in as many trips to Minnesota this season and climb the Central division standings in the process in what should be one of the more exciting match ups of the evening. The Preds have been strong to start the year with an 11-4-3 mark in their first 18 contests and currently occupy the third seed in the division sitting seven back of the Stars with two games in hand. The Preds are solid on defense but will face a very similar team here as the Wild operate under a defense first system and have a strong two way game and a great goaltender in what is a match up of two teams that are carbon copies of one another. Nashville is 4-3-1 on the road this season including a win in this building while Minnesota is 7-0 at home in games against anyone but the Predators.
Minnesota continues to make some noise in the Western Conference and continue to be one of the Cup contenders in the Central but they have been on the verge for years and still haven't been able to break through. Minny has a very talented team but in the toughest division in hockey they will have to step up even more if they're going to separate themselves from the pack and they may have to go external to do so as another piece in the offensive zone or a top four defenseman would push this team over the edge and turn them into a legitimate Cup favourite. As for tonight, I like the Wild to exact some revenge and get the victory against the only team to earn one in Minnesota this season as the Wild take a close one.
