The Minnesota Wild look for their first win at home this season as they welcome the surprising Vancouver Canucks to town on Tuesday night.

The Canucks look for their fourth win in five tries when playing away from home this season as they head into Minnesota to take on the Wild who are still reeling from a handful of key injuries, but are still a deep group that is a tough out on any given night. The Canucks came into the season projected to finish with one of the league’s worst records in many circles but so far they have gotten off to a rock solid start as they are 4-3 through their first seven games and are coming off a road win against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesar’s Arena on Sunday. The Canucks are expected to send Jakob Markstrom to the crease here as he will match up against Devan Dubnyk who is out for his breakout performance of the season after having such a dominating start to the year at this time 12 months ago.

The Wild meanwhile got off to a bit of a slow start as they have just two wins in their first five contests and for a group that is typically strong at home they are a disappointing 1-8 in their last nine contests when playing at the Xcel Energy Center and they will be out to rectify that in a hurry. The Wild have had their way against the Pacific division of late though as they are 5-1 in their last six against the West coasters and in this spot against the Canucks who are on the back end of a lengthy road trip it makes sense that Minny is a heavy favourite in this spot.

The Canucks are 2-7 in their last nine against the Central and 17-37 in their last 54 road games while the Wild are 3-8 in their last 11 overall and winless in their last four following a win. Vancouver is off to a surprisingly nice start but they get dealt a dose of reality here as Minny takes this one in regulation.
