The Jets head into Minnesota on Tuesday night looking to send the Wild to just their second home loss of the season in a Central division show down.
The Winnipeg Jets and Minnesota Wild have established one of the most exciting new rivalries in the NHL and as division foes that are both in the hunt for a playoff spot this season we can expect more fire works as the season goes along. Winnipeg got back in the postseason last year but was dealt a sweep at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks so now they have their minds focused on making a push in the Western Conference this season and in order to do so they will have to win games like this one on the road against a very good Minnesota team that has one of the best blue lines in the NHL. The Wild do have two games in hand on the Jets but right now the two teams sit tied in the Central with 18 points sitting six back of the division leading Stars.
The Wild head into Tuesday's game looking to win back to back games but they will have to do so without one of their best players in Zach Parise who will be out for the next five with an injury. Minnesota is 5-3-2 in their last 10 contests and as mentioned they sit tied for third in the division but with those extra two contests in their favour they have a great chance at closing in on the Stars but they need to take advantage of them and get a victory without Parise in the lineup. While Minny has been strong at home these games are always so close and with Minny being a bit banged up at the moment I look for the Jets to come in and steal one on the road.
