The Minnesota Wild look for a change in fortune in their NHL first round matchup with the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.
The Minnesota Wild are hoping for a quick about face when their series shifts to the Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota will be looking for their first win after a 4-1 defeat at Winnipeg on Friday left the Wild staring at a 2-0 series deficit.
The Wild did not score until 45 seconds remained in the game with Zach Parise scoring on the power play on assists from Mikko Koivu and Jonas Brodin while Devan Dubnyk was charged with four goals on 44 shots.
The Jets received scoring off the stick of Tyler Myers in the second with Paul Stasny, Andrew Copp and Patrik Laine finding the scoring column in the third period. Myers and Laine also added assists with Jack Rosolovic logging a pair of helpers to make a winner of Connor Hellebuyck and his 16 saves.
Under is 4-0 in Jets last 4 vs. Western Conference and under is 4-0 in Jets last 4 overall and Jets are 8-0 in their last 8 vs. a team with a winning record. Under is 5-0 in Wild last 5 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and under is 5-0 in Wild last 5 Sunday games and Wild are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Jets are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota.
Minnesota seems to be something of an obvious choice in their first game at home but Winnipeg seems to be at the top of their game right now…
