Tuesday NHL action pits the Montreal Canadiens against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes are looking to get back in the win column after a 4-1 loss at the NY Islanders put an end to a three game winning streak. Justin Williams scored for the Hurricanes with the man advantage in the third with Scott Darling getting the loss with four goals scoring on 19 shots.

Valttteri Filpula, Anthony Brauvillier, Josh Bailey and Adam Pelich each lit the lamp for New York. Brock Nelson and Anders Lee posted two assists each for the Islanders while Thomas Greiss recorded 26 stops to get the win.

The Montreal Canadiens need a reversal in fortunes after a 3-2 loss to visiting Boston saddled the team with four consecutive defeats. The Canadiens received third period goals from Jonathan Drouin and Tomas Tater while Carey Price gave up three goals on 35 shots to get the loss.

The Bruins offense came off the sticks of David Backes and Jake DeBrusk in the first with John Moore scoring the winner on a power play with just under three minutes left in the third. David Krejci added two assists and Tuukka Rask stopped 31 shots to get the win for Boston.

Under is 5-1 in Hurricanes last 6 overall and under is 4-1 in Hurricanes last 5 vs. a team with a losing record and
Hurricanes are 1-4 in their last 5 road games. Canadiens are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and over is 13-2-1 in Canadiens last 16 vs. Metropolitan and over is 6-1 in Canadiens last 7 vs. a team with a losing record. Hurricanes are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Hurricanes are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Montreal and under is 7-2-5 in the last 14 meetings.

The respective defenses have generally dominated when these teams take the ice so I’m looking at the under…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
