It wasn't the prettiest victory for the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night but it was one that snapped a two game losing streak for them. The Canadiens got an overtime goal from Max Pacioretty to snap a scoreless tie and lead them to a 1-0 victory. Montreal has struggled scoring goals over the past few games but their goaltending continues to be fantastic and it was again in this one. Carey Price made 21 saves to pick up his 15th win of the season and record the shutout. Defensive hockey is something that the Canadiens are going to have to focus on if they want to make a serious run the rest of the season and into the playoffs. The Canadiens play their home games in a building that can take on a life of its own and really turn games into track meets where the puck goes up and down the ice over and over again. Regardless of who starts in goal for the Canadiens on Sunday they'll need to be sharp as Montreal takes on a Florida Panthers club that is playing some solid hockey of late. Florida has won two straight games and four of their last five with a couple of wins over the Detroit Red Wings thrown in there and Friday night's win against the Washington Capitals. Dylan Olsen scored his third goal of the season and Aleksander Barkov also scored before Tomas Kopecky eventually won it in the shootout for the Panthers. This youth movement that we're seeing in Florida is having some very positive effects and the Panthers just have to hope that they aren't rushing anybody along too quickly here. Stil, the Panthers needed some energy and youth in their lineup and right now it's paying dividends. The Panthers like a lot of the kids they have in their system and we're seeing why that is with the way the club has played lately. Taking on the Montreal Canadiens is going to be another big test for this club but if they can get a couple goals early it might be enough to take down a Montreal team that is having trouble scoring right now.
