Los Angeles Kings (14-9-5) at Montreal Canadiens (18-10-2)
|Date & Time||Friday December 12, 2014, 7:30 PM (EST)|
The Line: Montreal Canadiens -125 / Los Angeles Kings +113 --- Over/Under: 5
The Kings look for their second win in as many nights as they head into Montreal to take on the Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Friday.
The LA Kings got the road monkey off their backs on Thursday night as they took down the new look Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre and broke out for a five goal effort which is something we have been waiting for from them. The Kings are the defedning Cup champions for a reasona nd while they have been without some key players and others underachieving it is nice to see the balance and depth this team has and as the season goes along they're only going to get better. Jonathan Quick is one of the best goalies in hockey and the team rides him hard so don't be surprised if he is in goal once again here despite playing in Ottawa last night but the team should be confident with Martin Jones in as well. Either way the Kings will have to play a strong game as the Canadiens are very good at home and have Saturday off before resuming action on Sunday.
The Canadiens endured a pretty emotional road trip last week as they leanred of the news that former Habs legend and team ambassador Jean Beliveau had passed away and they returned home to honour the hall of famer in their win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night. Montreal got back in the win column and now sit just two points back of the Lightning for top spot in the Atlantic division but there is plenty of heat coming from behind them as the Leafs are charging hard sitting three points back with two games in hand. Montreal is a good team and will more than likely be competing in the playoffs this season and Carey Price is a huge reason why but aside from him I think the Kings are the better group and while they haven't been great on the road it helps us here as we get great value in a very winnable game.
