The Montreal Canadiens played their game on Saturday night like a team who had played the night before. Montreal's legs just weren't there from the drop of the puck against the New York Rangers and that was ultimately the difference in a game they lost by a score of 1-0. Every loose puck for 60 minutes seemed to go New York's way with the Canadiens always a step behind. Carey Price was the best player on the ice for Montreal and if not for Price the Canadiens could have lost this one by three or four. Price is playing so well that he might be considered for Team Canada at the Sochi Olympics if he can keep this up. Price made some masterful saves that really allowed the Canadiens to have a chance at winning a game they had no business even being in. Brandon Prust returned to the lineup for Montreal but was mostly ineffective. Prust will be a difference maker for this team like he was last season in his first year in Montreal but he'll first need to get his legs back from under him. Chalk this one up as an aberration for a club that usually gives a much better effort than we saw in this one. The Canadiens will have their chance to rebound when the Minnesota Wild come to town on Tuesday night.

It never look pretty when the Minnesota Wild are out there but so far this season they've found a way to win hockey games. Sunday night was another great example of an ugly win for the Wild as they took down the Winnipeg Jets by a final of 2-1. Mikko Koivu scored both goals for Minnesota, one in the first period and on in the third, and Josh Harding made 21 saves to pick up yet another victory with Nicklas Backstrom out. Harding is worth his weight in gold right now for this hockey club and you can tell when the Wild are on the ice that they have full confidence in his play behind that. It's that type of mentality that is huge for a hockey club because if there isn't confidence in the goaltender that's playing behind you it's hard to ever be successful. Minnesota is going to need to find a way to get the goal scoring up, something they always seem to struggle with, but if their goaltending and defense remaing this way the Wild are going to be a pain for teams this year. Zach Parise, Jason Pominville, and Koivu isn't all that terrible of an offensive core. This is going to be a tough one for the Wild on Tuesday night however.

Montreal -142

On July 1, 2008 I typed into Google "How Do I start A Blog" and I started my first website called "Miami Mitch's Place" where i shared my college football Picks and predictions as well as opinion. By the Fall I had heard from many that the title made it sound like the site was about Miami so I changed it to "College Football Place" (, After the 2008 college football season I change focus and launched, it wasn't long after that when I realized I just wanted one place to add all sports, and that's when Sports Chat Place was born.

This site is a big Thank You to all of our readers, visitors, and community where we have been given a platform to talk to the masses about sports and hopefully help put you on some winners. If you need to reach me just shoot an email to [email protected]
