The New York Rangers go on the road to oppose the Montreal Canadiens in a Saturday NHL tilt.

The New York Rangers were looking for a sweep of their home-and-home series with Ottawa but their offense was nowhere to be found in a 3-0 loss on Thursday. Henrik Lundqvist could not win by his lonesome with three goals allowed on 35 shots to get the loss for New York. Drake Batherson and Magnus Paajarvi gave Ottawa a 2-0 advantage in the first with Matt Duchene adding a second period marker. Duchene and Batherson also had assists to make a winner of the Senators who saw Craig Anderson record 26 saves.

The Montreal Canadiens been fading the last few weeks with five consecutive defeats capped off by a 2-1 loss to visiting Carolina on Tuesday. Phillip Danault scored in the third for the Canadiens with Carey Price getting the loss with 20 stops.

The Hurricanes received a first period goal from Victor Rask with Trevor van Riemsdyk scoring in the second for a 2-0 advantage. Curtis McElhinney came up huge for Carolina with a 48 save performance.

Under is 4-0 in Rangers last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and Rangers are 8-1 in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest and Rangers are 1-7 in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Canadiens are 0-5 in their last 5 overall and under is 4-0 in Canadiens last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Canadiens are 0-8 in their last 8 games playing on 3 or more days rest. Home team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and Rangers are 6-16 in the last 22 meetings in Montreal and Rangers are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

Neither team has been setting the world on fire so my feeling is why pay the juice…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
