Tuesday NHL action pits the Montreal Canadiens against the Ottawa Senators.
The Ottawa Senators have followed a four game slide with a three game winning streak after downing San Jose 6-2 Saturday. Joe Thornton and Barclay Goodrow found the back of the net for the Sharks with Martin Jones allowing five goals on 26 shots to get the loss.
Ottawa received scoring from Ryan Dzingel, Ben Harpur, Millel Boedker, Mark Stone, Magnus Paajarvi and Bobby Ryan. Boedker added three helpers with Thomas Chabot and Zack Smith posted two assists each for the Senators to make the 36 saves of Craig Anderson a winner.
The Montreal Canadiens need a change in fortune with team suffering defeats in six of seven after a 3-1 loss to visiting San Jose on Sunday. Jeff Petry tallied in the second period for the Canadiens with Carey Price getting the loss with three goals allowed on 29 shots.
San Jose received first period goals from Justin Braun and Brent Burns with Joe Pavelski lighting the lamp in the second. Pavelski also had an assist and Martin Jones recorded 41 stops to get the win for the Sharks.
Over is 4-0 in Senators last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Senators are 0-4 in their last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Senators are 2-14 in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Canadiens are 0-4 in their last 4 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and Canadiens are 0-4 in their last 4 Tuesday games and over is 7-1 in Canadiens last 8 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation. Home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Senators are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Montreal and under is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings in Montreal.
I’m really not interested in backing either side but I’ll go with the huge plus money…
