Sidney Crosby returns to Montreal to play his child hood favourite team as the Penguins head into the Bell Centre looking for another key road victory.
The Penguins were criticized for a speed bump they had in their schedule a couple of weeks ago and skeptics were howling at the thought of them skating through the Eastern Conference this season but the last week has cemented the Pens as one of if not the favourite to qualify for the Cup finals. The Penguins have won three games in a row and sit in first place in the newly formed Metro division with 30 points through their first 23 game splayed. Crosby steals the show with his exceptional talent but the likes of James Neal among others have been just as impressive as the Pens show every night that they’re as deep as any team in the league. Marc Andre Fleury gets the call for the Pens in this one as he goes up against Carey Price.
The Canadiens are on a bit of a winning streak as well that includes Friday night’s win over the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center but you can be sure they’re fully geared up for this one tonight. It is well known that Crosby was a huge Canadiens fan growing up and you can expect that the current Habs fans will give him an ear full in this one but don’t expect it to take Crosby off his game. The Penguins are slight road favourites in this one and while the Habs are a tough out at home I think the price on the Penguins in this one is way too good to pass up. I am banking on the Pens to keep their winning streak intact and snap Montreal’s in the process in what should be a very exciting contest.
