Any team losing their best player is a big deal but when you're the Tampa Bay Lightning and you lose Steven Stamkos it's even more magnified. The Lightning are off to a 12-4-0 start this year, one of the biggest surprises in the league, but now they'll be without one of the best players in the game indefinitely. Stamkos broke his leg in Monday afternoon's 3-0 defeat to the Boston Bruins and now the Lightning will see if they have what it takes to surive without him. It was hard to imagine the Lightning maintaining their current pace but now that Stamkos is out it seems almost impossible. Tampa has come up big lately with wins over St. Louis and Detroit, but look at what they've got coming after Monday's loss to the Bruins.A trip to Montreal, home for the Anaheim Ducks, then a road trip that takes them out west to face Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Anaheim again. This injury couldn't have come at a worse time for the Lightning. In the second game of a back-to-back, playing in one of the most difficult buildings to play in it's easy to see a bit of a let down on Tuesday night against the Habs.
