|Date & Time||Monday March 20, 2017, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Nashville Predators -250 / Arizona Coyotes +222 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Nashville Predators continue their pursuit of a Western Conference playoff spot as they host the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night.
The Arizona Coyotes look to snap out of their ugly losing ways against the Central division as they have lost 17 of their last 54 and are not in a good spot here as the Preds need this win badly to stay in the mix in the Central division and wild card playoffs in the Western Conference. The Coyotes are 10 games under the .500 mark and are in second to last in the Western Conference standings which should put them in a good position when it comes to the draft in the offseason which should give them another young talent to add their roster. Arizona has struggled at both ends of the rink this season but they need some help in the offensive zone as they among the worst in goals per game this season and need to address those issues in the offseason. Mike Smith is expected to get the call in the crease as he will match up against Pekka Rinne who will be out for a strong outing at home.
The Predators meanwhile been lights out at home this season as they are 20-8-7 when playing in Nashville and have points in 27 of 35 games at Bridgestone Arena and they will need two more here to create some separation in the wild card chase in the Western Conference. The Preds would also like to move out of the wild card bracket altogether and avoid a division winner in the first round and with 11 games left in the regular season for them they are tied with the St. Louis Blues with 81 points and know that every game down the stretch is of the utmost importance.
The Coyotes are 4-0 in their last four Monday games and 12-40 in their last 52 road games while the Preds are 4-1 in their last five home games and 16-5 in their last 21 Monday games. The line here is all chalk but the Preds need the win and get it done at home so take them in regulation for a better pay out.
