The Predators look to lay a beat down on the lowly Sabres when the teams meet up in Nashville on Saturday night.
The Sabres have had a season for the ages for all of the wrong reasons and their futility should continue tonight as they take on one of the league's top teams in the Predators who are looking to claw their way back into the Central division lead. Buffalo sits dead last in the league table and are on track to land the top overall draft pick which would instantly change around their franchise and could very well turn them into a playoff team within a couple of years. Buffalo is coming off a loss at home against the Devils last night and things don't get any better as the Predators are lights out at home this season and with their season hitting a bit of a speed bump over the last few weeks you can bet they'd love to take out their frustrations on the league bottom feeders.
The Predators had the Central division on lock down for the better part of the season but a hiccup when Pekka Rinne was injured and the continuation of it when he returned has the Preds in second place now behind the Blues and they'll be hard pressed to get the division crown back. Nashville is a spectacular team on home ice and find a way to utilize their suffocating defense and strong goaltending to their advantage but on the road they have been underwhelming and come playoff time they'd better buckle down away from home or else they could face a premature exit and head into the offseason with a ton of unanswered questions. As for tonight this game is a foregone conclusion that the Preds are going to win and the line is absurd so I'd suggest attacking the total and even though the Preds may put up more than five on their own I do think this one stays under the number.
