NHL action comes to the Bridgestone Arena where the Nashville Predators host the Carolina Panthers.

The Carolina Hurricanes end a stretch where the team has been on the road for seven of their last eight games with a stop at the Nashville Predators. Carolina had been surging with three straight wins before getting blasted in an 8-1 loss at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. The Hurricanes lone goal came in the first off the stick of Jeff Skinner while Scott Darling was charged with eight goals on 36 shots.

The Toronto offense could do no wrong with a four goal first and a four goal third. The balanced and explosive Maple Leafs attack saw scoring from Leo Komarov, Mitch Marner, James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak, Patrick Marleau, Kasperi Kapanen, William Nylander and Connor Carrick. Bozak and Marner added three assists each and Frederik Andersen made 32 saves for the Maple Leafs.

The Nashville Predators have yet to cool off as the days go by and the wins pile up. Nashville did cool off for a night in a 6-4 loss to the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday which ended a three game winning streak. The Predators received goals from Calle Jamrok, Kevin Fiala, PK Subban and Yannick Weber with Pekka Rinne allowing five goals on 35 shots.

Nikolaj Ehlers scored two times for Winnipeg with Adam Lowry, Patrik Laine and Brandon Tanev also lighting the lamp. Blake Wheeler secured the win for the Jets with an empty net tally while Tyler Myers added three helpers to make to 30 save effort of Connor Hellebuyck stand up.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
